Adult Education

New Bible Study: The Hole in Our Gospel begins June 9

You may have heard Pastor Jen reference the book The Hole in Our Gospel, and many of you may have even read the book. In June, Kathy Rothen and Marlena Guerra will lead a six-week Bible study exploring the book. Classes will be Wednesday evenings at 7:30 starting June 9.
The Hole in Our Gospel was written by Richard Stearns, once the CEO of Lennox China and now the president of World Vision.  It is the story of how he came reluctantly to this position and how we can change the world one person at a time.

What does God expect of us? The Hole in Our Gospel challenges Christians to expand their faith into a public and transforming relationship with the poor. “The gospel proclaimed by Jesus was so much more than a private transaction between God and us,” Richard Stearns writes. “It was a vision of a changed people challenging and changing the prevailing values and practices of our world.”

The stories, Scripture and statistics recounted in The Hole in Our Gospel will inspire readers to see God’s heart for the poor. As Christians, we will consider how we can do the same. Registration begins May 9.
