Membership Information

People are received into membership at Zion by baptism (infants, children & adults), confirmation (youth) and affirmation of faith (adults).

An active member is defined as having a current record of membership – including attendance and contribution at least once in the previous 12 months. Voting privileges are extended to active members who have been confirmed.

Holy Baptism for Infants, Children and Adults

A baptism workship is held on the 2nd Thursday evening of each month, with one of the pastors. This is a casual meeting between the baptismal candidate and/or parents and one of the pastors. Sponsors and other family members are welcome to this orientation, but their attendance is not required.

The workshop includes the meaning of baptism in the Lutheran church, filling out forms, discussing Sunday morning logistics, and available dates.

Please RSVP to the church office for the workshop and for child care, if needed.

After the candidate/parents have attended a workshop, baptisms are scheduled by calling the church office.

Baptisms are part of of the Sunday morning worship services. Baptisms are scheduled during non-communion services (9:30 on the 1st & 3rd Sundays, or 8:00 and 11:00 on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, and any service on the 5th Sunday of the month).

If you have questions about baptism in the Lutheran church, contact Pastor Schulte or Pastor Gold. Office hours are 8:30-5pm Mon-Thurs and 8:30-3pm Fri.
