Come upstairs in the Family Life Center. at 9:30am and join up with one of these three great teams! 9:30am through May 18.

Middle School (grades 6 & 7)

in FLC Room 202, with Gordon Willms, Yvonne Moody, Brittanie Crow and Gary English.

 

Grades 8 & 9

in Room 203 with Susan Johns and Suzi Lockamy

 

High Schoolers (grades 10-12)

Youth Open Gym and Sunday Night Live through May 18, 5:00-7:00pm

Come hang out in the FLC with old and new friends. For the month of May, we will have Open Gym and SNL mixed together from 5:00-7:00pm. Open Gym time starts at 5:00, as usual, but at 6:00 we will come together to take part in a large group game and a devotional.
We look forward to seeing everyone there!

SNL-High School

Are you looking to get out of the house on Sunday evenings? SNL is back, led this year by Susan Johns! She probably taught you in Sunday school or Confirmation classes (or even in school). Now she joins you again for another leg in your faith journey.

 

Mission Trip Lock-In May 2

High school youth and sponsors who are going on the mission trip to South Carolina, we are having a lock-in on Friday, May 2. The event will run until noon on Saturday.

Please make plans to attend (let Travis know if you cannot). The evening will be full of activities as well as some opportunities to talk about the trip and what we will be doing to prepare for our journey. Don’t forget to bring pillows, sleeping bags, movies and snacks. Breakfast is provided.

Mission Trip Quick Fundraiser May 10

Mission trip participants have a unique opportunity to earn Mission Trip Bucks. On Saturday, May 10, we will work at a banquet held in the Family Life Center. We will serve as wait staff, dishwashers, etc. for the Taft Band Banquet. In return, those who work will receive credit towards our trip to North Carolina. We need at least twenty participants to make this event work. More information will come as we approach the banquet date. If you already know you want to earn some quick trip $, let Travis know now.

 

CONFIRMATION (Grades 8 & 9) Resumes in August 2008

Zion’s Confirmation program is a two-year series of classes. Eighth and ninth graders study the history and theology of the Lutheran faith and learn what it means to be a Christian in the world, all in an atmosphere of fun, sharing and friendship.

Confirmation classes resume in the fall, after school begins. Watch for details or ask Travis Baker. tudents (grades 8 & 9) hang together on Sunday mornings as well as Sunday evenings, finding out what it means to be Lutheran Christians.

Juniors and Seniors Invited to Become Confirmation Junior Guides for Fall 2008

Are you a junior or senior in high school that has been confirmed? You can come back to serve as a co-leader of a Confirmation small group. Contact Pastor Jennifer or Travis Baker to fill you in on all the details. It’s a great way to serve at Zion, stay connected, mature in your faith, and have fun!

MEDICAL RELEASE FORMS 2007-2008

Medical release forms are required for youth to participate in activities. NEW medical release forms are available for the new school year. Pick one up from the Youth Board or download a printable copy.

PARENTS: If you notarize your signature on the medical release, it is good for events through the next year. FREE notary service is available in the church office during business hours. Call for 688-3090 for details. PRE-SIGNED FORMS WILL NOT BE NOTARIZED.

GUESTS need to have a medical release signed by a parent/guardian before participating in any Zion youth activities.

 

The YOUTH BOARD

is in the hallway across from the chursery and restrooms. When you’re at the church, check the board for the latest photos, release forms, event details and to sign up for activties.
